Ingredients:

Grilled Soft Shell Crab with Spicy Garlic Butter
  • 4 soft shell crabs, cleaned

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

1. Preparation: Rinse our already cleaned soft-shell crabs thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels.

2. Spicy Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned. Stir in the lemon juice and remove from heat. Set aside.

3. Seasoning: Brush the crabs with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper on both sides.

4. Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the crabs on the grill, shell side down. Grill for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until the shells are bright red and the meat is cooked through. During the last minute of grilling, brush the crabs generously with the spicy garlic butter.

5. Serving: Remove the crabs from the grill and place on a serving platter. Drizzle any remaining spicy garlic butter over the crabs. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Tips:

  • Ensure the grill is properly preheated to prevent sticking and achieve a nice sear on the crabs.

  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.

  • Pair with a side of grilled vegetables or a light salad for a complete meal.
