Baked Salmon with Orzo Pasta 

Looking for a simple yet delicious meal that's both hearty and satisfying? This baked salmon with orzo pasta is the perfect solution. Combining tender salmon filets with creamy orzo pasta, this dish is seasoned to perfection and topped with Parmesan cheese for an added touch of flavor. It’s a breeze to prepare and makes for a comforting dinner that the whole family will love. If you like your orzo a little al dente, use only 1 1/2 cups of water/broth.  

 

Feel free to customize your orzo with vegetables like broccoli, squash, zucchini, or sautéed onions. For seasoning, you can use Italian seasoning with a pinch of freshly ground pepper or your favorite seafood seasoning. Enjoy your meal! 

  

Salmon baked in Orzo Pasta

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup orzo 

  • 2 cups boiling water or broth (or 1½ cups for al dente orzo) 

  • 1 tablespoon of your favorite seasoning blend, such a soup mix 

  • 1 tablespoon Thyme sprigs 

  • 1 Rosemary sprig 

  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese 

  • Cherry tomatoes (optional) 

  • Up to ½ cup cream 

  • 2 6-oz wild caught Salmon filets 

  • Additional seasoning for salmon (optional) 

  

Instructions: 

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). 

2. In a baking dish, combine your orzo, chosen seasoning blend, thyme, and rosemary, and boiling water or broth. Mix well. 

3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. 

4. Remove the dish from the oven and stir the orzo. At this point, you can also add cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, and a splash of cream, up to ½ cup. Stir to combine. 

5. Once mixed, place the Salmon filets on top of the orzo. Sprinkle with additional seasoning if desired. 

6. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 17 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through. 

7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
